The Billys is a community of hundreds of open-hearted gay, bi and queer men who join together in Gatherings six times a year in extraordinary rural venues throughout Northern California. Each gathering is a work of art, carefully crafted by Billys to take us to places of joy and playfulness, intimacy and openness. We come together to play games, hike, make yummy food, play music, cuddle, meditate, frolic, do yoga, and learn from each other.
The crown jewel of nearly every Billy gathering is something we call Heart Circle – a time to share what’s on our hearts and listen with an open heart. It is the juice that has kept our community going since 1988. Between gatherings, some Billys meet for potlucks and Heart Circles, for hikes or to help each other out, to do fundraising or to attend cultural events together.
Our May Day gathering this year celebrates Spring and features a Festival of Colors and Love (Holi style) and triumph of good over evil! Held April 30 – May 4, 2014 at Saratoga Springs. Billys only.
Food, frolicking, swimming, and heart space, not necessarily in that order, are the keywords for our most rambunctious and active gathering of the year. Held June 30 – July 6, 2014 at Saratoga Springs. Billys only.
Lovely and laid back, our Labor Day is at Rancho Cicada Aug. 28 – Sept. 1, 2014 in the Sierra foothills, along the Consumnes River. Billys and Kin welcome.
Eating, swimming and frolicking in the woods are only half the story. What goes on behind every gathering is a community of people offering their vision and talents to create these magical events. The payoff? Being part of an intentional community and sharing one’s unique skills and open heart.
